I am so thankful. This week was the best that I've had in a long time, even though there were a few things that could have made it not so good. tazaandhusband always shares happy lists. i thought i would share a few things that made me a happy person this week.
10 Things That Make Me Terribly Happy
1. the return of the gingerbread latte
2. a date on 11/11/11
3. peanut butter bacon cookies
4. keeping up with a really fast rapper
5. hearing my sister's voice
6. roaring fire in the fire place
7. wearing jeans to school
8. funny friends
9. understanding calculus homework
10. school night sleepovers with lys
Just so you know, I had a really difficult time not putting food items on that list. (two slipped on there)
as bad as alyssa and i make senior year out to be, sometimes its quite fabulous.
hello there lovelies.
happy thursday. as always, here's a little glimpse at what i've been up to lately and some of my most recent favorite things.
i'm a little early with the christmas spirit, but it's my favorite holiday by a landslide.
traditions, and cold weather.
and...a very she and him christmas.
zooey deschanel may or may not be one of my idols.
the best christmas music.
handmade hair things.
my newly discovered love for sewing.
thanks for reading. (eventually i'll do a mini-collection of the articles of clothing i've made....)
-happy early winter. yes, i realize it's still fall. i'm a little anxious.
Hello lovelies.
it seems like my internet obsession and usage has skyrocketed lately, and this seems to be due to a little website called stumbleupon. haven't heard of it? do you live under a rock?
this website is an unending plethora of sites/pictures/online stores/everything else cool that you've never seen before.
all of this to say that recently, a few websites have struck my fancy.
one in particular is fred flare.
it's an online store full of the most unconventional and creative items. i love it.
once again, we didn't intend on this being a lifestyle blog, or even a "what the future hopefully probably doesn't hold" blog, but oh well.
you can't exactly count on us to be consistent. that's just life.
but, in the spirit of the date night blog post, and the breakup post, i thought i'd keep going with that idea and do a current "the perfect wedding" post. yes. it's so farfetched. yes. i'm still in highschool.
but who didn't grow up watching cinderella. i was practically raised to believe in fallacy such as that. oh well. girls will be girls, and the something borrowed, something blue saying will always be somewhere in the corner of our minds.
so. here is (currently) a few of my dream wedding must haves.
i am absolutely obsessed with simple engagement rings. they're so classic.
and pretty.
short wedding dresses. need i say more?
they're just as elegant without the mess of
the twenty foot train to drag around all night.
this venue is so pretty. i love it.
and this bouquet is different but still classy.
well, hope this was a fun twist to the normal posts of our little blog world.
sorry for the slackability this week. (mallory here) i'm a little makeup obsessed. i recently sent a box filled with makeup mainly found in the u.s. to a fellow youtube friend in england. in return i received a box of british gold.
my box to meg
my box from meg
barry m nail paints: mushroom, blue moon, berry ice cream
matte lip cream in cotton candy, 17 lipstick in beehive
hand food hand cream
makeup academy blusher in shade 2, sleek contour kit, famous blush
this week i thought i'd share a few pics of my door. yes. the door to my room. to the untrained eye, it may seem like just a jumbled mess of movie tickets, album artwork, and paper scraps, but to me, it's the last year all taped down in one place.
Paramore letters from the concert last year.
My favorite quotes.
Metrocard from my trip to New York.
Starbucks pick of the week.
Itunes giftcard.
Jesse birthday card from mal.
Hodgepodge of album artwork.
The kooks. best band ever.
Medieval times crown.
Drawing from friend.
Tag from clips from Hawaii.
Unclaimed baggage business card.
there it is, in all it's glory.
and glorious it is.
It's a constant reminder of the past year or two, and i'm a big fan of it.
happy weekend readers!
i'm a little blog obsessed and have been for a few years now. i add new blogs to my daily reading almost weekly. careful, you will become addicted.
1. the rockstar diaries
only the cutest family on the face of the earth. she doesn't allow images to be taken from her blog without written permission, but go and check it out. i promise you will not be disappointed.
one of my biggest fashion inspirations--her blog is the most aesthetically pleasing thing you will ever see. she makes delicious looking food and has great entertaining ideas. look out for her book coming out next year.
as I, Alyssa, had promised, here is the first and fabulous friday post.
(we will try our best to keep this a weekly thing. no promises, though.)
This will be a mix of things that i'm loving this week.
1. my most recent favorite song:
(my favorite song can change on a weekly or even daily basis,
so this isn't really saying much. just a current fave.)
Fairytale by Cloud Cult.
this isn't the official music video, however, the lyrics are the part i'm the biggest fan of. it's basically an intertwined mix of fairytales turned into a song. so good.
2. my current favorite make-up product:
the elf cream eyeliner. it's perfect. good pigmentation, and they're only $3 each.
i have them in black, and today i just bought the coffee brown color.
they go on super easy (especially if you have the elf angled liner brush. it makes winged eye-liner a much easier task...) seriously, a really great buy.
3. my latest favorite thrifting purchase:
vintage etienne aigner loafers. they're the coolest old lady shoes ever.
don't be too jealous.
4. latest and greatest scent: Boyfriend by Sephora.
this one was a birthday gift. every time i wear this perfume, i get compliments about it. it's a really light, sweet smell, the perfect summery scent. also, my secret perfume trick: the front/back spritz. apparently it's not something everyone does, but that's what i've done for forever. i always spray perfume on my neck, both the front and the back. then you're encompassed in your lovely signature scent. trust me, this plan is fool-proof.
5. last but not least, and my favorite of the friday five: Cat-eye glasses by Ray-ban.
my new specs. i just got them today and i have already fallen in love with them. the shape, the color. all of it.
aren't they wonderful? i feel like a librarian that's an undercover secret agent when i wear them...
shy, quiet, but with a secret life. or something like that.
well reader, i hope you enjoyed Alyssa's friday five, next week it will be mal's turn to share her faves.
