(yes, it's one am. i can't stop crafting. i'm alyssa and i have a problem.)
I just thought i'd share with you my latest and greatest craft adventure of the clothing variety.
one of the things i'm loving lately is the elbow patch trend, but i don't own anything with elbow patches. disappointing, right? wrong, reader.
I bought a shirt today (it was $6.80 from forever 21 in case you're wondering or wanting to try this for yourself.) and decided it could use some patches. so i bought some corduroy fabric and went about my ways hand stitching and adding details to this once plain shirt. i'm in love with it now.
all you need is either a shirt or a sweater, some embroidery thread, and some corduroy.
the before shot. (boring, right? i know. it gets so much better.)
All i did was cut out two identical oval shapes, then pinned them on the sleeves
of the shirt and stitched them on with embroidery thread.
I used the blue thread to add some detail, with little "x" patterns on different
places on each patch, so they aren't identical.
It was a really easy project, a little time consuming with all the stitching,
but completely worth it.

then, after i finished the elbow patches, i decided to add a little
more detail to the front, so i cut a square and
stitched it on the same way.
Did i mention that this shirt, including all materials, costs less than $10. yeah, that's right. and it's so cute. i'm loving this shirt and all my handiwork. If you (readers, family, friends) try this little DIY project, give us a link in the comments, we want to see it. thanks for sharing.
and, as always, thanks for reading.
