not your momma's turkey burger.

greetings, readers.
as inspiration hits me, i follow through with it.
so, when i got the idea to make turkey burgers, i went a little overboard.
homemade hamburger buns, pomegranate ketchup.
it was a worthwhile venture in the food world. my taste buds gave me an award.

i piled them high with greens, cheese, avocado, and the ketchup.
they were so yummy.

happy eating.

Happy List

I am so thankful. This week was the best that I've had in a long time, even though there were a few things that could have made it not so good. tazaandhusband always shares happy lists. i thought i would share a few things that made me a happy person this week.

10 Things That Make Me Terribly Happy
1. the return of the gingerbread latte
2. a date on 11/11/11
3. peanut butter bacon cookies
4. keeping up with a really fast rapper
5. hearing my sister's voice
6. roaring fire in the fire place
7. wearing jeans to school
8. funny friends
9. understanding calculus homework
10. school night sleepovers with lys

Just so you know, I had a really difficult time not putting food items on that list. (two slipped on there)

as bad as alyssa and i make senior year out to be, sometimes its quite fabulous.

 Proof.

Southern Belles.

welcome to the south.
welcome to your new favorite breakfast.
let me introduce you to chocolate and biscuits.
what?
yes you heard correctly. chocolate gravy. biscuits.
it's heavenly.

the recipe is really easy,
just milk,
cocoa powder,
sugar,
and butter.
all perfectly whisked together over a hot stove top.
served on the side with a biscuit fresh out of the oven. breakfast has never tasted so good.

thanks for reading, and happy eating.

make yourself a sandwich

it's lunchtime.

put on a fancy skirt, blast some music, and make yourself a
sandwich. not just any sandwich. make yourself the best
sandwich you will ever eat.

yeah you might get some funny stares for grilling a sandwich
with pickles and chips. but who cares? it taste pretty darn good and
 that's really all that matters.

recipe adapted from here. p.s. this website is my favorite.

two thick slices of french bread
3 pieces of ham
lots of sliced sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon of coarse ground mustard
1 baby dill pickle (thinly sliced)
a handful of frito honey barbecue twists (crushed with the flat side of a knife)
1 table spoon of butter for grilling

spread mustard on both sides of bread. use a light hand.
layer cheese, ham, pickles, chips and extra cheese.
melt butter in pan over medium heat. lightly brown on both sides. eat.
authors note: best with an apple and peanut butter, and blueberry pomegranate V8.

the pickles and chips add just the right amount of crunch.

happy eating,
